Sandringham and Metung Yacht Clubs are thrilled to welcome RGYC and RYCV Cadets to this year’s Easter Pilgrimage to Metung, running from 18th – 21st April.
This one-of-a-kind regatta embraces a simple philosophy: sail and have fun! Across four incredible days, sailors will experience the breathtaking beauty of Metung while taking part in a varied sailing program each day. With its calm autumn conditions and sheltered waters, this event is perfect for new skippers and crews, offering a more relaxed environment while still providing valuable time on the water.

































Easter Weekend Schedule
Friday – Kickstarting the Weekend
- Afternoon racing in Bancroft Bay, setting the tone for an exciting weekend.
- Meanwhile, the ladies will enjoy a Ladies’ Cruise, taking in the stunning scenery.
- The day wraps up with a BBQ at the local CFA station, supporting their fundraising efforts.
Saturday – The Big Adventure
- A 12km race to Barrier Landing, crossing the lakes for a well-earned lunch and swim.
- Sailors will then team race back to the club, testing their skills and teamwork.
Sunday – More Racing, More Fun
- A race to King Lake Beach for a relaxed lunch stop.
- The return leg features a crew race, giving sailors a chance to mix things up!
Monday – The Grand Finale!
- The final day brings serious bragging rights with the legendary Dad’s Race, Mother’s Race, and the highly anticipated “Has Beens” race for former cadet sailors.
- All eyes will be on the Thunderbowl Trophy, awarded to the ultimate champion!
- Family members can also join in the fun by racing their boats in the “Miscellaneous Garbage” class.
